Vangelis – Greatest Hits

49,99

Vangelis has been recording for well over 40 years and any compilation that claims the “Best of” or the “Greatest Hits” is a little pretentious. However, this collection very nearly captures the flag.

I own very few of the separate recordings that these songs are drawn from. Looking for a wide variety of items from the Vangelis library, I decided on this one. I was glad I did.

Vangelis’ music has underscored generations of movies, television shows, theater, and ideas. From the oft-satired “Chariots of Fire” theme to the delicate pieces plucked for use on “Cosmos” with Carl Sagan, these songs have narrated emotions for many generations of people. All of these songs stand well on their own, apart from any production they may have been linked to initially.

I would recommend this collection for any serious music collector who wants a well-done overview of this influential artist.
