Depeche Mode ‎– But Not Tonight (US Pressing)

79,99

The original UK 12 inch single release came in an embossed sleeve. The promotional 12 inch is similar to the “It’s Called A Heart” promotional 12 inch (rubber stamp of front cover on a white label).

Sire Records flipped the UK single for “Stripped” around for their US single release. Not only did they go with the UK B side “But Not Tonight” as their A side, but the track was specially remixed for the US release by Robert Margouleff (both 7 inch and 12 inch versions).

The song “But Not Tonight” was featured on the soundtrack to the movie “Modern Girls”. The mix included on the soundtrack is the 7 inch version. At the end of the movie, over the credits, a different Robert Margouleff remix was used (and poorly edited together). It is commonly referred to as the “Soundtrack Mix”. It is only found on an extremely rare acetate.

The “Modern Girls” soundtrack, the 7 inch and 12 inch “But Not Tonight” singles, and “The Complete Depeche Mode” (iTunes) are the only way to obtain these Robert Margouleff commercial mixes.
