Bruckner – Symphony No 8, Solti, Vienna Philharmonic (Box)

Complete with Original Decca Inner Sleeves and Booklet

I think this is a wonderful recording and an amazing composition by Bruckner. He was born prior to Mahler so I’m guessing he was one of Mahler’s influences. This work has majesty, pathos, joy and tenderness. It is emotionally authentic, gimmick free, and and gets more interesting the more you listen to it. It’s an eighty minute work and quite complex. I’ve listened to it (always on headphones) seven or eight times now and my appreciation keeps increasing. If you are up for an emotionally intense, demanding listening experience buy this box set.
