Ove Lind was active as a professional musician from 1946 . He played with Simon Brehm’s orchestra in 1949 and beyond including with Thore Swanerud , Charlie Norman and sextet Swinging Swedes 1952-54. 1954 bildadade he together with others including Gunnar Almstedt and Bengt Hallberg Almstedt-Lind Quartet, who played smågruppsswing in Benny Goodman’s spirit. During the 1950s, Lind also arranger and studio musician on the record label Metronome .

In 1963 he formed own orchestra and was with vibraphonist Lars Erstrand a key figure in the revival of swing music that became known as the happy jazz, and as of 1968 was centered on jazz pub Stampen in the Old Town of Stockholm.
